Assigning a Password to a iProcess User

Created on: Feb 8, 2010 6:26 AM

Hi all,

I want to know as to how one can assign a password for a iProcess user. I'm able to create a iProcess user using the iProcess Administration->UserManagement tool. Is it possible to assign a password for the corresponding user that has been created.

Re: Assigning a Password to a iProcess User

Hi Kiran

Generally you add users on your machine as iProcess users. For adding users to your machine, you need to access COMPUTER MANAGEMENT from control panel. In the users - Create users wherein you can also specify passwords. Once you have done this, logon to iProcess administrator and click O/S list. This would detail out all the users on that machine who can be added as iProcess users. Once you have added, try to login and see if it asks for password.

in the real world, the iProcess engine is integrated with enterprise wide LDAP and users on the client network on configured as users on iProcess.

Hope my answer helps

thanks

Re: Assigning a Password to a iProcess User

Just to add to this reply:

iProcess does not store user passwords.

By default, iProcess validates users against the underlying server operating system. Some sites configure it to validate against LDAP instead, or you can develop your own plugin to anoither user mechanism and valudate against that.

So by default, to add a passowrd to a user, add it on the server operating system.
