iProcess - ROLES

HI,

 

How do we use iProcess roles ? Is there a way of defining a role which has read-only access to workitems ?

Or is there any other way of providing users with read-only access to workitems?

Hi

Roles in iProcess are similar to Groups.You can create a role(like supervisor/Manager) similar to a group in iProcess administrator

& the workitem would can be seen by all the users whose role level matches to the one assigned.There is no out of box functionality

in Workspace browser which supports a read only access to workitems.

iProcess ROLES are not supported in BPMN, and hence not in Business Studio.(BS refers to "Roles", but it means "Groups")

 

You either need to add them in via Modeler, or hack the xpdl that is produced by BS.

 

It's annoying, as populating a Role with a Group gives a nice separation of development activity and administration activity.

Hi,

The Roles are work same as GROUP.

In the adress of a manula step you can give role.

Can i know what is your main purpose of for making a workitem readonly?

Bcoz there is nothing a term called readonly workitem in IPROCESS.

Once a perosn lock the workitem other person only see the workitem( i.e. he can't work on that).

.
